Mediation Process & Fees
At WK Mediation, William Kampf aims to make every mediation efficient, professional, and easy to arrange. Whether conducted virtually or in person, his process is designed to remove logistical barriers so that all participants can focus on what matters most—reaching resolution.
A Streamlined and Accessible Mediation Experience
How to Schedule
To schedule a mediation, please contact Mr. Kampf’s office by phone or email to confirm availability. Before reserving a date, all decision-makers—including the parties and any insurance representatives—should confirm they can attend. Once a date is agreed upon, a confirmation letter, invoice, and related documents will be sent to all parties.
Location Options
Most mediations are conducted via Zoom video conference, which has proven just as effective as in-person sessions.
In-person mediations can also be arranged, provided that the parties supply appropriate conference facilities.
The Mediation Process
Pre-Mediation Call
About one week before the mediation, Mr. Kampf will speak with each party by phone to discuss logistics, expectations, and any preferred procedures for the session.
Mediation Briefs
Each party should submit a mediation brief at least seven (7) days prior to the scheduled date. Briefs should include:
- A factual summary of the matter
- The current procedural status (e.g., pre-litigation, active case, arbitration)
- A summary of discovery completed to date
- A concise legal analysis (no need for extensive citations unless the issue is novel)
- Relevant exhibits or supporting documents
Briefs should be no more than 10 pages, excluding exhibits.
Day of Mediation
Unless agreed otherwise, the mediation begins with each party in a separate conference room. Mr. Kampf will review the Confidentiality Agreement and remind all parties of the agreed-upon ground rules. He then conducts private caucuses to understand each side’s perspective and underlying concerns, using a mix of facilitative and evaluative techniques to help reach a balanced resolution.
